In 2011 we had an extended holiday in Europe and enjoyed it so much that we undertook another holiday in 2013 which again was superb.
So it isn't surprising that we have planned another in this coming year's European summer
We leave home in early June with an initial stopover in Vancouver before flying through to London where we pick up "our" new Peugeot 3008.
Our plan is to travel up the west coast of England stopping at Stoke-on-Trent, Liverpool and then onto the Lake District before moving east to Edinburgh and then down the east coast of England to Folkestone with stops at places such as York & Cambridge.
Late in June we put the Peugeot on Le Shuttle and crossover to France. From Calais we drive down to Honfleur and then sweep through the centre of France stopping at various smaller cities [Le Mont-Saint Michel, Angers, Poitiers, Bourges] before putting our anchor down in Beaune for a week and a half.
After leaving Beaune we travel south with stops at Annecy & Grenoble before moving onto Turin which sees us in Italy.
Across the top of Italy stopping at Piacenza, Padova & Grado before we arrive in Istria with stays in Umag & Pula
We have planned a side trip to Lake Bled and the Posojna Caves in Slovenia before returning back into Italy to Lake Como via Trieste & Vicenza before dropping the Peugeot off in Milan.
Flying out of Milan we have a stopover in Singapore before we finally arrive back in New Zealand in mid August.
